This was taken from another site ,written by a rider from WV. Sounds a lot like i thought it would. I hope others post honest opinion reviews on the new xp too.

First Ride RZR XP Yesterday at 6:44 pm

Yesterday I got to take the XP and go for a ride to see what it was like. I got to ride down a trail for a little bit and give it a real good lookin over.

It was def a RZR in its fullest. My first impression was "THIS THING IS HUGE!"
It has more power and it sounded really good. I loved the new suspension.

The ride was the same as the S. I was expecting a better ride but no change.
When I was on the trail I found that the low end power was the same as the RZR S. The ONLY time you ever saw the bigger motor was on the top end.
The thing drove like it was HEAVY. It def drives like it is heavier than the S.
I knew the rear storage was smaller due to the new motor but gosh they took alot. I was shocked at how much they took away from it. Other than that its the same as our RZR's. I would love to add that top hatch to get to the top of the motor like they did on the XP.

All in all it was awesome. A few things I liked and a few I didnt.

Now I know there will be some diff opinions but I wanted to give a look into what it was like.

Well thats what reviews are about, different opinions from people, then you just add up what matches in all of them and you can get a good idea whats good or bad about a product. Maybe dodd can give us his detailed review when he gets to ride it more 431114

Here are 2 more i found, the first is about the steering being heavy feeling; The 2nd is about the ITP tires that come on the XP.
Quote :
Hi all mine is a little heavy .not bad just a little more than standard .my 14 year old drove 20 miles in it today did not bother him.tight trails mite need power steering .Frank

.

Quote :
I got a total of 12 miles in before a few wheel spins and slides in turns blew a hole out on one outer rear sidewall and put a puncture in one of the fronts as well. Major FAIL by Polaris for putting on such cheap tires IMO

I swear when I push on the sidewalls it feels like jelly not rubber.

My stock wheels and the 2 tires left are for sale if anyone needs spares

There are several that have already busted the sides of the tires. I expect the original tires won't last long around here.

the red xp is the cheaper made of the two models, molded in color & plain seats, If i ever bought one id step up a few hundred and get this one, painted body, fancy seats, I like the wheels better and the graphics too. To me this just looks so much better

I'm with you Gunny, if I bought one it would be the white one. I'll admit, I came very close to trading one of my 4 wheelers for one. Since then I have changed my mind and decided to just put a bigger turbo and a 880 big bore kit on my S. It will still be faster, stay at 60" wide and the best part is, I won't owe any money on it!

Just read a bunch more reviews and the one thing people are talking about is the hard steering. What makes this worse is I Just did a little research and the unisteer for the other rzr's wont work with the xp. Looking at polaris parts lookup the part numbers for the steering shaft and the rack is different and it lists its only use as being the 2011 xp. Maybe a larger diameter to handle the wider front end . So untill unisteer gets one and comes up with a working kit people wont even have the option of using it.

No doubt, the white one is the way to go when looks matter. It may not be fair to judge, since I haven't ridden or seen one in action where we ride, but I got a bad feeling about those big O'l gaping holes underneath those exposed rear axles when what really matters is stumps and rocks....I'm doing everything I can do to talk myself into one, but I just got some bad feelings about it.........The wife has given her ok but if I cry wolf too many times then I'm afraid she will say no when Polaris supplies the ultimate rzr for where we ride.... Whats a guy to do????

Im with you Jerry. I just don't see one going up 3 with the stock trailing arms. Even if Racer Tech or somebody else makes a different trailing arm that gives it more ground clearance then the rear axle will be exposed. Just not a good set up for our neck of the woods in my opinion.

I saw a set of covers made out of that black plastic they build skids out of on one of the ones fitted for racing on rzr.net.

Another owner review.
Just picked up my XP this afternoon and here are my impressions:

1) Yes. The steering is a little heavier but no too bad.

2) The thing surprises you and starts at a flick of the switch.

3) The tranny shifting feels smoother.

4) You definitely feel the height difference sitting in the seat. I got back in my S and I felt like I was in a Low Rider.

5) The back access panels to the Oil Sump and air filter are convenient but the large one is flimsy.

6) The seats feel better than the 08 ones I have. I have PRP's but these are not bad for OEM.

7) The skid plate looks to be 1/4" or so and this things sits high so the stock protection seem adequate. The side areas could us some protection though.

Cool That radiator needs more protection. I am going to modify my RacerTech bumper to fit.

9) That rear link plate is chintzy. UTVINC has that covered.

10) Power feels very linear and the engine is fairly quiet @ speed.

11) My doors , seats, V Dash-bar, roof, parking brake fit.

12) Doesn't look like my trunk or gas can mounts fit.

Here is one from a trail rider;

Wed Jan 26, 2011 11:04 pm Post subject: rzr 900 xp rode one today
Rode a rzr xp today. Its really quick. It starts climbing and doesnt stop. The front end lifts up really high during acceleration probably because the trailing arms are so far forward where they attach to the frame. It has enough thrust to put you back in the seat and you get that scary feeling in your chest. The lifting of the front in acceleration and going back down when you let off would get aggravating on a trail that has alot of speed variances.

Went to the dealer today to play with an XP..... 431114
setting in it , all is about the same as an S

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

as everyone said , the damn thing is huge. it is wider , and the flaires
are even wider. and its longer. Just my opinion but i think this thing
would struggle through about hafe of Brimstone.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The ass end sets up a lot higher than the front.
and i don't like that. but some adjustment on the rear
could fix a lot of that.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The skid plates are 2 peaces. and there plastic.
they would get tore up in the woods like all the rest.
i am sure people are making aluminum skids for them now... 431114

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

i was not sure but after close inspection , it does have a small
rear swaybar. i would remove it if i had one...... yes1
The ladder bar it self is built pretty heavy duty , I don't think
you will hurt it. even if you did drag it on the rocks.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The springs on the shocks are huge, almost twice as big around
as the ones on an S , and the suspention is very stiff.
you can hardly push down on it at all , you can tell it was made
for high speed running.... 431114

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I liked most things on the machine. But this is the Cheesy part.
As a Fabricator i can tell you , This rear carage plate and these
links are not going to last what so ever......No
Look how thin this plate is. and the links are tiny. The rod ends
are about the same size and the tie rod end on the front. No Shit.
You can bet the after market guys are scrambling to make upgraded
parts for this. I know UTV inc is already making heavier plates for the rear.
The rear link bars need to be twice the size they are. then it would be fine.
everything on the machine seems awesome , except
2 things. the rear Suspension links and plates and the bed.
The bed Sucks.... Mad the bed is no color or paint. it all black plastic
with a decal on it. and the flares are all made on the bed.
So when you guys , and you know who you are... lol!
rip the flares off at brimstone. you will be buying a whole new bed.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

All in all , i like it. i just ant sure yet if it is what i need to do the kind of riding
we do. I could have drove it. I know the guy that owns the dealer.
I thought about it.... yes1 but decided all i could have done was drive it in the
parking lot. and that would not told me what i wanted to know. i would of
just got all giddy about the power , and might had made a bad impulse
decision.... lol! So i choose not to. it is an awsome looking machine.
but as of now , i still feel its to big to do what we do. i may find out i am wrong.
at witch such time i will feel the need to write a big Check... cheers

And that is my honist review of what i have seen so far.
after i see one in the woods , we may have a whole different out look.. 431114
