XP / S comparison Empty
PostSubject: XP / S comparison   XP / S comparison EmptyMon Jan 31, 2011 7:16 am

I got a chance to drive an an XP yesterday. Here are my first impressions. I have read where alot of people are saying the steering on this beast is heavy, that statement would be CORRECT! If they don't put power steering on this thing someone's going to break an arm. It wants to drive straight no matter what. The machine has more power than it knows what to do with. It will break traction on command and is a little loud when in the drivers seat. You can definitely tell the exhaust exits towards the drivers side. It felt very unconfortable riding at low speeds and feels nervous and anxious, if that makes sense. At slow speeds the suspension was very stiff with little give. This machine wants to RUN! Once you open it up the machine settles down and cruises. There's nothing it won't saok up and go through at speed. The sitting position is a little off for my liking. I have gotten used to sitting back and cruising on the S but on the XP you kinda sit forward on the wheel. Guessing this is from the rear end being so high. All in all this machine will scream like a banshee. I don't think I will be selling my S anytime soon.

It sure makes the S look small.

Those rear pivot arms(or whatever they are called) on the XP look like they are begging to be caught on a stump or large rock.

The XP looks like it was built with mainly sand dune riders in mind.

Did you do any trail riding with it, or just in the parking lot? I am curious to see how it carries power through the hillclimbs, technical riding, etc.

Thanks for the write up, Your right about it being a wild west machine, but I will have to see one go where we ride to make my decision on if one of these might be in my future but from what im reading and seeing so far if i had to decide today it would be no.

I rode around the parking lot and across some of the ditches and whoops along the side of the road. There definitely will not be any loss of power wherever it may go.
