| I guess i am not cool. the stock one works fine for me... I do wish it was rubbery like the one on my Rhino was , and not hard plastic. but hey it changes the gears.... Gunny has a billet one on his , and i tell how i feel about it every time i see it.... | |

| I don't mind the stock one. But, I did however take a silver sharpe and make a mark at reverse, neutral, and low beside the shaft on the plastic hump. I can figure out park and hi on my own. It's just that some times when I am in a hurry I can just look down and know exactly where the shifter needs to be. If I ever get time to install the parking brake I am going to put a lockout on it so if I slam the shifter forward the farthest it will go is reverse. I have seen times hill climbing that it comes in handy to get it in reverse QUICKLY. | |

Of course it could be made so you could flip it up if you really wanted to put it in park. | |

If I could have gotton mine into reverse quick enough, I wouldn't have did my little roll over on 21. Instead, I wasted my time in trying to shift my weight up high to keep it down --then I had to hurry up and get back in it for the rest of the ride because it didn't work...REVERSE is good. Great idea for a lockout! |

| To get the factory shifter off---You can take a small screwdriver or other device and flip off the top part of the shifter head, there's a bolt there unscrew it (this may be an allan head, cannot remember) and the shifter slips off.. |

| I forgot to add this to the previous post I made, I cut a piece of red reflective tape in a arrow shape to mark reverse position,it is easy to see and gives you a good reference to where the other gears are located..
Great when like Jerry you need to find it fast to keep from flipping or other situation... |
