Hey guys I finally give up on Yamaha and went and got a RZR... A 2013 RZR S LE Blue Fire... Only mods so far is GBC tires and EMP tranny saver (and it hasn't been on the trail yet) but got skids and a few other items coming..

I have been thinking about that but may do a little riding first so I got something to compare it to after removal...

Roadie , that Bullshit. if you properly maintain it and not do stupid shit.
it will last as long as anything. if you don't it will break just like all the rest of them.
You use to have a Tyrex , That is the biggest peace of shit that was ever made , and everyone knows
that. My S is 3 years old , it has been anywhere and everywhere anyone ever go's the roughest rocks
to the toughest trails. I maintain it to the hilt. i have replaced one tie rod and 2 rear upper right rear bushings.
that is it. it still even has the original battery in it. You obviously are rough on you Stuff.
So give it a rest will Ya..... Rolling Eyes

PostSubject: Re: Mud and Guts S   Mud and Guts S EmptyWed Jan 02, 2013 9:30 pm

Chris i'm sorry for telling the truth 971386 but get over it just because you own one don't mean it's the best madz . I,m not like that if what I own isn't that good I will say it 971386 . I like people telling it like it is so I know what expect . And The Teryx was a LOT more reliable then the RZR.
The only reason I bought the RZR was because it was 50" wide.......
I beat the hell out of the Rhino, Teryx and RZR . The Rhino and Teryx were the most reliable by far.

1900 miles on the RZR
replaced bushings 6 times
replaced 1 lower a arm
replaced motor mounts
replaced wheel bearings
replaced 2 hubs
replaced 2 circut breakers
replaced u joints
1 belt
3 sets of brakes
stock shocks were shot at 400 miles
3 ball joints
2 tierod ends

Teryx 1700 miles
3 sets of bushings
1 belt
lots of plastic body parts

Rhino 1600 miles
1 ball joint

You tell me Chris - and I beat them all and maintaned them all the same............... Mud and Guts S 89060

Like I said the RZR is the most fun.But f you want to play hard and have fun you have to pay. 971386

Mud and Guts S Empty
PostSubject: Re: Mud and Guts S   Mud and Guts S EmptyWed Jan 02, 2013 10:00 pm

Well, if you like to ride'm hard and race'm up and down on the throttle, beating and banging and jumping and going through the mud over rocks and just giving it hell, then yes, I have noticed things tend to ware faster. These things started out as utilty and havnt changed much other than horsepower and better suspension components. They are reaching a point of diminishing return- all of the brands. Over powered and underdesigned structurally. Hell, i had an 84 cavalier that had less horsepower that an XP 900. The more power we give them without beefing up those same componants is only going to lead to more things wearing out faster. In my opinion, if you arent mechanically inclined to work on these things yourself, then you probably shouldnt be in the busniness. These things are offroad race machines. The power to weight ratio is just plain stupid when you consider 100 horsepower in somehting that weighs less than 1500 pounds. There is no way in hell they will give these things 200 HP and the unit still way 1500 or less. The damn thing will fly apart unless its all made out of some sort of exotic materials. The cage and frame will have to be heavier. More unsprung weight, and a real steering wheel and seats! Until then, I will expect that thin walled metal frame and cage to keep bending like butter and those tiny axles to snap and little plastic bushings to ware out. Or, I could just keep it on smooth pavement or dirt and not drive the god damn shit out of it up a hill and then jump at the top to land in a mud hole 4 feet deep only to then hydroplane into a tree and cry about my radiator support bending! Rock sliders and brush guards and snorkels and full system exhausts and long travel suspensions all spell one thing, "Im going to drive the hell out of it!" What other improvements do we make to improve the longevity? Nothing! Hardly nothing at all! Weld in some gussets? Only after we bent the shit out of it hitting a rock too hard! Can-Ams, Yamahas, Hondas, Polaris, Suzuki, hell, they are all made of the same materials. Plastics and metals. What the hell is so much better? Fords, Chevys, Toyotas, Nissans, Dodge? Have we really conclusively decided which truck is better? I like to buy American, but everytime I come back from the store, I find it was made in China! Lets all make rock crawlers! real axles, steering wheels, seats and have a good ole 305 chevy smallblock! I bet we would just drive them even harder! One mans opinion!

PostSubject: Re: Mud and Guts S   Mud and Guts S EmptyWed Jan 02, 2013 10:52 pm

I don't think its the best cause i own one. I bought one for that reason.
There is not a better machine to do what we do than an RZR.
The only real issue with RZR's is the bushings , and very simple to change.
I have seen tons of problems with tyrex and Rhino's too.
Dave broke everything on his rhino , he is rough on his stuff. and is on the RZR
it is beat to hell and he has hardly broke anything.
I read all the off road tests. they just tested an XP and an artic cat on a 3 day test.
one hour in the artic cat stripped a belt off. Now that sounds like real Quality.
You been talking about what a peace of shit an RZR is for years , then you turn around
and buy one. Now that makes no since. 248474

Like I said 50" wide. I wish some one else would make something like it. I would switch brands so quick it would make your head spin. But for me there the only choice I have right now.
But like I said there a ton of fun,but there just made from recycled Beer cans.
I get tiered of people saying how great they are and reliable they are. When I know different. Why do you get all pissy when I tell the truth? Get over it your not going to change my opinion, just like yours won't change.
You own one and so do. I but we both have too different opinions of whats good and bad.
Just keep your opinions to your self and don't direct shit at me.

They all break if you ride em fast and hard. A rhino looks more reliable mostly because they cant do or go where a rzr will. Take anything on the market and the more you neglect and abuse it the faster it will wear or break. You never hear from the guys who take care of there shit and drive with a concern for the machine. Some people and roadie is one could break rocks with a rubber hammer 729242

I own one so I can bash all I want. The reason I come the RZR forums is how to fix the problems and what to look for. With that being said . I wish people would be more honest as to all the things to look for.
And not keeping quite because they own one. Besides this is not bashing this is telling how it is.

PostSubject: Re: Mud and Guts S   Mud and Guts S EmptyThu Jan 03, 2013 5:29 pm

How in the world are you guys breaking hubs and tie rod ends so easy? I have had a RZR S and RZR XP and have never broke an axle or any of that stuff. I have had stuff wear and become loose such as the a-arm bushings, tie rod ends, and even burnt a belt up one stopping on a steep hill, plus i just recently replaced a front wheel bearing. I like to run mine out in the open some, but mostly its low speed through the woods and some hill climbs. If it gets rough, I just creep through it. I even wore out a couple sets of tires. Driving through the woods and creek beds, rocks and rutts, that stuff is pretty harsh to begin with. I love the RZR, but its not indestructable. I hate tearing stuff up. Its costly enough just to buy one let alone the whole "drive it like you stole it" philosophy. Gotta take care of your toys. My dad used to get pissed when I left my bicycle out.
