I've got the nuvi 500 and used it for the 1st time this weekend. Loved it. We used the trac back (or whatever they call it) feature and it worked well. It got rained on, hit with mud, and lots of dust and held up fine. Only problem I had was sun glare cause I have it mounted to the left of my steering wheel to the cage. I'm planning on re-locating it before I go out again.

Muddy-one - I'm thinking about the middle of the dash...not positive yet. I'll post pics once I decide.

Rotten-rider - I got a refurbished one with a warranty on eBay for $150ish and the RAM mount and power cord from GPS City

I use a Delorme PN40. Delorme's maps are much better detail than Garmin's, if you save your tracks, make map notes, print, etc. The screen size is a little small, so I use a Ram Mount on the top front roll bar & adjust it around to wherre I can see it. Also, whatever you decide on, check Walmart online before you purchase. I got my PN 40 a $140.00 cheaper there than I could have gotten at Bass Pro or Gander Mtn.

I have been using Garmin products for a long time. I recently got the PN-40 Delorme and find it better for our use. It can easily be converted to hand held and it has more detail and other features.

I use a Garmin 2610 and I have it mounted on the steering column so I can see and adjust it through the steering wheel, I've had this unit for 4-5 years and have had no problems, it goes on my motorcycle, boat, rzr, and hummer. It's very easy to use and there are lots of kits to mount it pretty much any where. I use the ram mounts most of the time.

My next GPS will have a MP3 and or satelite radio functions.
