PostSubject: XP1000 ride report   Sun Sep 15, 2013 8:13 pm

We put 40 fairly easy miles on the XP today at windrock. We rode trail 2, 16 and then went down the rocks on 3 and then back up the rocks. The suspension is awesome on the 1000, thats all i can say, it is the smoothest RZR i have ever driven, Polaris did their homework on this one. The power is amazing, alot more mid-range than the 900. It crawls over rocks with ease, the factory big horns are great, the seats are very comfortable....On the other hand, the drive by wire throttle takes a little getting used to, its very responsive. I developed a rattle in the front end midway through the ride and found the lower control arms needed some tightening...typical new machine bugs. The factory glovebox door is a POS. we ended up taking the door off. Polaris better have something to replace that soon. Mine also has the driveshaft noise that has been talked about on the other forum...my dealer is aware of that and there will be a fix hopefully soon....All in all im impressed with the machine, its a step up from the 800,900 platform, its going to be a great machine to build....i just cant believe they let a 20000 machine out the door with a POS glovebox.

Great report.... 431114  I am glad you were honest about the drive shaft thing.
I hope po po will address this soon. I am sure there get a fix for the glove box door.
and really my 09 S does not have a glove box and i did fine for 3 years. so no big deal.
I would just take the damn thing off too.... lol!
I think with a few bug fixes it is going to awesome machine.
I think is superior to everything out there now... 431114
and i wish the price would drop a bit.

Not to be to noisy but did you do better than the 19.500 asking price?

The official fix for the driveshaft is to remove the front section and rotate it six splines. I'm gonna take it back and get it done. Ritchie tractor has them for 18900. Abernathys is selling them for 18500.

They said the same thing about the front drive shaft on a Rhino ,
