Want start pressing brake Empty
PostSubject: Want start pressing brake   Want start pressing brake EmptyMon May 17, 2010 7:33 pm

My RZR got where I really had to press hard on the brakes for it to start on the windrock ride, now it will not start at all unless I jump it across the solenoid..

I looked for some type adjustment but there was none, best I can tell there are wires running from the (what looks like a brake light switch below the solenoid to the keyed switch to energize the solenoid while pressing the brakes for it to start...

Anyone know if it's the (brake light looking switch or maybe the main start switch) ?

I couldn't find any lose or broken wires...

I dont know for sure but I would say that there is a sensor in the brake line that senses the pressure on the fluid that is bad. Try to stab the brakes a couple of times pretty fast and see if it will start working again.

Hank , check to see if when you push the brake , your brake lights are working.
it might be wired into the brake light switch some how. and if your brake lights are not
working. it may just be a bad switch causeing it not to start... 431114

Thanks Chris I'll give that a try today,I think the switch on the brake lines could be the problem..

I need to check the wires with my volt meter to see which color wire coming from this switch energizes the solenoid..

I found the problem, even though my ohm meter showed a connection across the brake switch when I pressed on the brake,I guess it was not letting enough voltage through to energize the solenoid..

I jumped across the wires that plug to the brake switch and everything worked fine, started right up.

I think this switch is the same as some cars have as a brake light switch,I will buy one from auto zone or at the popo dealer..
