PostSubject: $10,000 race at Windrock November 5th   $10,000 race at Windrock November 5th EmptyFri Jul 08, 2011 9:07 am

Now THIS is going to be a show!!!!!!!!!! I love to see other people break stuff.
There are basicly three "Jeep" classes, A for stock, B for modified and C for anything goes jeeps/rails, and one U class for side by sides. The two problems, at least for me, is that you have to use the factory engine and you can' run a turbo. But, some of you guys might be interested in racing.

From what I have read, this is NOT a timed event through a section of trail. It is going to be a race that will last from 3 to 8 hours on some of the trails and the gravel roads that connect them. (I hope they have Life Star ready) Since I can't race I plan to find out which trails they are using, find me a good spot, load my cooler down, make sure I have my camera with an extra battery and have a good time!
This is the organization that is puttin the race on.

Looks like to race it you have to have raced in at least 2 of their races in 2011 to enter, they say there are 2 left before this race so if interested you best get going!

I begged and pleaded and here was the responce from ECORS about UTV classes. Looks like I will be racing after all, yee f n haw!!!!!!!!!! The sponsor program is just something I asked about to see if we got a few sponsors they would add a class. I am going to hit up some of the local shops to see if I can help them out a little.

Roger,

I think for this race we will have a few different classes of UTVs. There seems to be some interest in ECORS by the UTV crowd and to really bring in more we will need to have a couple of classes of UTVs. At this point I believe we will have 3 classes, one of which will be an open class. You will all run the same course at the same time but will just be competing against others in your class only.

Our sponsor program has developed and chaged a lot since the start of the season. For this last race of the year, we are looking at a fair payout for teams to travel to Windrock. To be a class sponsor, we have pushed sponsors to reward the racers more than anything else. All ECORS asks for is 10% to put into the marketing budget. So, if you wanted to give a $100 gift cert or product, or prizes, all of that would go to the racers and just 10% ($10) to ECORS to help add to the marketing of you and your company.
Racers like cash and gift certificates but you are welcome to do what you like. For this end of the year race, sponsors are asked to really step up and reward the drivers. Suggested values of prizes are: 1st place: $400 value, 2nd place: $300 value, 3rd place: $200 value. This can be in cash, gift certs, or products. At this minimum level, you can race without paying the entry fee. You will have free entry into the race as well as banners on course, decals on all UTVs, and name on event shirts and ECORS website.

It will be hard, but MAYBE I can get the turbo, ECU and injectors installed in three and a half months. It just depends on how much riding we get in on Saturdays. lol!

Ok now, Rodgers giving me the bug to want to race in this thing. And after I watch a few of the ecors on youtube I caint wait for it. I've been trying to find out info about the course if it will use existing trails or will they make a whole new "race" course. Here is a vid of their first race of the series ( i think). If they can build us in some good jumps like in this video---I most definetly will take part.. Rodger are you going to make it this Sat? I was planning to go on roosters ride, but since I've been thinking about this race Im just going to ride by myself giving the trails hell.Let me kno if your going to be up there---going to have to start honing my skills to get ready (means I'm going to have to break out the o'l helmet )

431114 431114 I think that the way the leader in the second video was throwing so much roost up it must have had a turbo on it or something, he was running off from the other guys... $10,000 race at Windrock November 5th 840182

Jerry, I wanted to go ride the WMA land but one of our riding buddies has to be home at 2:00 to baby sit his dog????????????????

We will probably just run 22 , 41, 26, 35, 36, 27, 36 till he goes home then ride somewhere around 44, 43, 42 and the new trail. We are going to try to get him to get out of bed and get started "early for him" around 9:00-9:30.

I am looking forward to the race also! If everything works out as planned, mine should have a little bit more power than it had. I really need it ready a little before the Windrock Fall Jam on October 20-22. I usually don't make it back from riding in time to race but this fall is going to be different. I am going to make a point to be back in time to race my 4 wheeler in the WWO (they haven't had a class for me in the UTV class) and my 4 wheeler and RZR in the drags.

This sounds like a lot of fun. I wish they would get some UTV info on their website covering rules, etc. I'm thinking this might be fun to get into next year. I'll be there to watch in November.

What most find out is that suped up motors and hp dont mean jack when it comes to Windrock Trails, not even on the gravel roads....,90hp = drifting of the edge.... A stock rzr motor with the right suspension will carry this race.

Most important is tires.....Second is clearance.......third is travel ......I got that taken care of except for me I need hubs and a steering rack (that will hold up) so which ones do i need to go with.....I'm thinking ????????????????

Ok fellers, let me school you a little. This is a old video but maybe I can use it to teach a bit.

In the begeninnig its stacrzr videoing one handed! actually hes videoing with one hand and driving with the other the whole time. 205131 At 4:15 i come into view ,Boo!-no onel likes me, but anyways,, at 4:51 I hit 53 mph and at 5:18 I slide side ways and so does stacrzr but remember hes one handed all the way. So I'm having to wait on him a little bit And if you finish the vide out, he runs trail 21 under 5minutes (one handed)... Oh and if you can see, I am loftting 3ft of the ground on T22 water breaks 729242 ....but at the end of the vid, you will see how effortlesly my rzr crawls up T15 at the pavement....Caint wait for this race cause If its true to windrock then my rzr is ready. I still caint use all of the stock motor on the trails....How many webers or xps do you think could pass us on t22 in this vid? We are still taking it easy and still not using all of the motor..

I know of one.............. lol!

According to Brent, the race will not be on any of the existing trails, it will be held up on top of the hill at Windrock Park Campground where the WWO race track is. Seems like it is about 1.3 miles long. But, Brent also said that they will also make some new trails to add to it to make it longer. There is around 400 acres up there to use. Here are some pictures of the Spring WWO race.
