| What kind of radios do you guys use for communicating with each other on group rides? FRS/GMRS? VHF? CB? Which channels or frequencies? | |

| A lot of us have bought the refurbished dash mount radios and kits from Mason. Most of those are boosted to 50 watts and reach way, way, way up in the mountains. I can call from the campground, when the group is way far away, sometimes an hour, and set up a point to hook up with them. I still keep a hand held for when we are on breaks or walking the campground. Mason's come with new wiring, antenna (SWR's set). Most of us mount them overhead. You can reach them and hear them better. They are programmed the same as the hand helds. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |
