vehicle communication 2 way radios and such

So I went ahead and bought two Rugged systems for my 2 SXS's . the rrp350 (300 from rugged ) for the RZR and the RRP600 (425 from a rxrforum member ) for the rhino. MY question is this. What radio is best in the mountains ? I was thinking of adding something with 65 watts maybe VHF or UHF ? I really dont know wanything about radios. What are Y'alls thoughts ?

I use a Kenwood TK-880 GMRS/FRS mobile radio (UHF) and it works great.

how does it do in the mountains? what kind of range are you getting?

I was up in Evarts KY this weekend and best we could tell we were talking to a guy about 3 miles away, BUT we were up on the mountain. Most of what I use it for is with my "group" so we are all within a 1/4 of a mile from each other.

A few of the guys use the portable "bubble pack" radios you can get almost anywhere and they do fine also. I prefer a mounted radio. I can post pics in a day or so if anyone wants.
