| Does anyone know how to tap the race out in order to put new bearings in? Also, do you guys recommend aftermarket tapered bearings or have a preference? I was thinkng about going with Pivot Works tapered bearings. Either way, I need to know how to get that race out. I already have the c-clip out. The race looks like it needs to be pressed or tapped out with a special tool that has 3 fingers on it so it can be tapped out evenly. Should I just take it to the dealer and let them do it? Any thoughts would be helpful.
Sincerely,
Chad | |

| I usually first try to take a punch and drive it out, hittint it at each one of those 3 places. If that doesn't work I remove the inner races and bearings pretty much clean the inside of the bearing out leaving the outside race. Then I take my mig welder and run two 1" beads on each side (inside) of the race in the middle. Then I take my air chisel and put it on the welds and go from side to side. It doesn't take much to get it out then as the welding shrinks it a little. | |

| Harbor freight sells a bearing/seal installer/remover kit for ~$25 with most popular sizes. I have one and it works great. | |
