- Both the front and rear bearings fit some Toyota and Nissan models. I replace them so many time on the Rhino I lost count. If I remember correctly the first change on the Rhino was with 1500 miles. After that is was every 600- 800 miles. The Rhino has 3400 miles on it so I guess I changed them 4-5 times. I did use OEM bearings the first couple of changes but it didnt help with how long they lasted. So I went with the cheaper ones. I dunno exactly why.
I think the spindles get worn after two thousand miles. That is why the first set last 1500 and 600 there after. I would agree if I had not replaced three of the four. I think in order to get the most out of them all a arm bushings, bolts and ball joints should be replaced at the same time the spindles are. I never did that all at once for proof.....just a guess.

| If the sealed OEM bearings can be greased I would say that that is the problem. Seal means sealed. Any seam gets open enough to allow grease in, then water gets in.
I am going to inject them with grease ( large hypodermic needle). Then clean with solvent and dab it with silicunt. But, I will not try any of this till the 5 year warranty is up.

I think that would be a better way of doing it. I will try that next time... |

| Just got the bearings. here are some pics. The rear stocker is 3585502CH, which is made in China by VBF. A Ford Escort also carries these wheel bearing. The part number for the rear 20-1009-2rs pulls this page up on google. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]And the contents. The All Balls bearing is a premium EMQ quality, hi-speed bearing that features low-drag, double-lip, rubber seals that provide superior exclusion of water and dirt and improved grease retention Designed for the difficult operating environment of the Powersports Industry Developed in partnership with KML Bearing NSK and Timkin, do make a rear bearing and I have always thought them to be superior to others. The part number is 40BWd06. These are made in Brazil. The Japanese ones have a different part number, 40BWd06jb and have metal seals. The front have different part numbers but according to ARS, KML makes the front stockers. After looking high and low for another manufacturers for the fronts, I cannot find one. The closest one is a 40MM x 72MM x 36MM, this is even after several calls to bearing houses too. So both stock bearings, front and rear, for the POPO are made BY KML bearing. Does this make them the same better or inferior....hell if I know. The fronts [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The rears [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]One thing that kinda jumps out just by looking at these.....is the front have the .110 relief on either side of OD of the bearings. The rear replacements do not have this like the stockers do. I will install them tomorrow. | |
